Christmas Time in 2009

From the twinkling lights to the elegant colors nothing compares to snuggling up on the couch to a Christmas movie while surrounded by all of the holiday decor.

The fur babies enjoy it, too.

We mustn't forget about the home baked goodies and the few extra pounds...

It has been an interestingly warm winter here in Vermont. We made it through the month of November with weather in the 40's and even some days in the 50's. We finally had our first snowfall on December 5th.

Are you going to make some ornaments this year? Last year I made some ornaments using styrofoam balls, patterned paper die cut into 1" circles, ink and pins. I found the idea in the December 08' issue of Creating Keepsakes.

This year I wanted to add another style ornament to my mini tree. I found these uber cute ornaments here: http://www.kaisercraft.net/be-inspired/paper-crafts.html

I did mine a little differently then the ones you will find on the website above. I cut my strips smaller and didn't add the top layer. I also found that if you take the middle of the ornament on top and bottom and press and attach together you have yourself a handmade bow. I used my scraps and made little rings for the bottom tree branches.

Now, for the finished product... drum roll please...

After Halloween Post

Another Halloween has passed us.... Thanksgiving will soon be here and then my personal favorite... Christmas! Then we will begin a whole new year of scrap-fun-fab times:)

This is my spook-tacular sign that I made for Halloween:

As many of you know I do not have any children. I do have a few furry little creatures running around. I decided to dress up the only little one that loves to try stuff on:

These Are A Few of My Favorite Things

For this layout I painted the background. I also did some doodling for the border. I challenge you to take photos of 3 of your favorite things and do a layout about them.

My Nephew Kamdin

I stepped outside the box for this one. I am very intimidated by doodling. I'm worried it won't look good, what about all of the unevenness, it's never ending. One day I was teaching my little sister, Angelique, a mini album class and she drew adorable block letters. I loved hers so much that I had to try it for myself. I also drew doodle lines around all the patterned paper squares.

My challenge to you is to step outside your box. Do something on a layout that overwhelms you!

Perseverance

Perseverance: steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., esp. in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement.

For this layout I used a black and white photo. I stamped each letter of the word, "perseverance", onto transparancy and overlapped them onto colored cardstock squares. I defined the word in the middle of the page and bordered it with a circle of flowers.

Define a word that describes you and let it be your next layout!

Love Birds

This is an 8 x 8 LO of my husband and I right before Christmas in 2008. I used silver ink to stamp the birds image. This was a simple layout and I absolutely love the outcome.
